Tanker Booms
There is a range of four twin nozzle spread booms with spread width of 12m, 18m, 20m and 24m. All are galvanised with hydraulic folding booms. There are also two dribble bars and two combination bars available. Standard 6m and 7m dribble bars had 12 or 14 pinch bars respectively, mounted on hydraulically folding booms. The combination booms are available in 6m dribble/12m twin nozzle spread and 7m dribble/18m twin nozzle spread combinations. The unique ‘pinch valves’ balance the pressure in the boom before allowing slurry to the ground, thus giving an even distribution. To change from dribble to twin nozzle spread, simply fold and sleeve each dribble bar hose (this effectively closes off all dribble bar outlets), remove the end caps and fix in place 90˚ nozzle bodies and Bauer nozzles.
Tramspread boom and dribble bars are all built to a high quality standard and are fully galvanised. With attention to setting of height and output angle on the twin outlet boom it is possible to produce a spread pattern with a coefficient of variation of 20% in the field. Attaching booms to most makes of tanker is a simple operation. The main advantages of using Tramspread tanker booms are:
- Top dressing with slurry
- Reduction in leaching of nitrates
- savings in artificial fertiliser costs
- Accurate distribution and spread
- Minimises risk of scorch
- Increase in overall spreading period
- Reduction of autumn workload
- Keeps compaction to tramlines on stubble
- Fits most makes of vacuum tankers
- Folds for transport
