🔵 Remarkably, the first TRAMSPREAD trailed hose reeler from 1998 is still in service with Tramspread Contracting Ltd.
🔵 Originally configured as a segmented reeler to hold 1500m of hose, it spent 15 years in frontline use with an umbilical application system. Later it was modified into a random wrap reeler, with the spool partitions removed and the drawbar converted to allow hydraulic side-shifting. In this new guise it can hold well over 2000m of 5in diameter hose. Nowadays it’s just used to store hose which is hired-out for irrigation.
